DID YOU KNOW? The Cyclones played the first ever game in their new “concrete” football stadium on Friday, Oct. 27, 1967. It was homecoming and they shut out New Hanover (Wilmington) 23-0. Before more than 2,000 fans, Senior quarterback Lynn Daniell went 7/16 for 119 yards and three touchdowns. Junior Zeke Church caught a Daniell five yard pass over the middle to become the first player to score in what then was known as Cyclone Country Stadium. [source 1, source 2]
