Don Fish
Producer
Don Fish served as Executive Director of the N.C. Sports Hall of Fame from 2007 through 2019. He is the owner and president of Tri Pro Inc., a sales, marketing, and retained executive search firm. He is a former executive with the Liggett Group, where he played a key role in the creation of what became SkyBox trading cards and accessories.
Tim Stevens
Writer, Director
Tim Stevens, a Garner native, was a newspaper sports reporter for The News & Observer Publishing Co., for 48 years. He was once named among the Top 10 sports beat reporters in the country.
He was inducted into the N.C. Sports Hall of Fame in 2021. He also is in the National High School Athletics Hall of Fame and the N.C. High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame.
Stevens created the award-winning “Broadway Voices” concert series in Garner and won a national People’s Choice Telly Award for “A Different Kind of Christmas,” a musical special that he produced. Two fundraisers that he produced raised almost $100,000 for hurricane relief.
He has written five plays about his hometown and each has won N.C. Society of Historian honors for multimedia. Garner recognized him for his contributions to the community by awarding him the James R. Stevens Service to Garner Award, an award named for his father.
Tim has been the principle responsible for bringing The Wall That Heals, a 3/4 scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial that travels with a mobile education center, to Garner’s Lake Benson Park in 2022. Brad Simmons
Videographer
Brad Simmons is an Emmy Award winning videographer from WRAL in Raleigh. He has been with Channel 5 since 1998. During his time there he has covered every major sporting event from Super Bowls to the Stanley Cup Finals, Final Fours to even the Olympics in 2016. Over the years He has worked side by side with Tom Suiter and Jeff Gravley and has covered thousands of high school football games for WRAL’s Football Friday.
Prior to WRAL, Brad graduated from East Carolina University and during that time learned even more about Eastern North Carolina as an intern for Brian Bailey at WNCT-TV in Greenville.
Brad was born and raised in Asheboro NC and knows full well the impact high school sports has not only on an individual but a whole community.
Jeff Gravley
Narrator
Jeff Gravley spent 35 years in broadcasting, 31 of which with WRAL in Raleigh. He began his tenure with Raleigh’s top-rated station as an intern in 1985 and worked his way through the ranks as a sports photographer to a reporter, and ultimately as one of the most respected anchors in the region. During his broadcasting career Gravley was twice honored as North Carolina Sportscaster of the Year by the National Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association. Additionally, he was a seven-time regional Emmy Award winner.
A native of Oxford, NC, Gravley is a 1985 graduate of NC State and was a walk-on pitcher for the baseball team under NC State Athletics Hall of Famer Sam Esposito.
